![]() Lebron put up some great stats but dude isnt really a good defender. like i said, everyone who doesnt agree with some ppl here are automatically homers, haters or biased - laker fan and non-lakers fans alike.very few ppl have a neutral/unbiased(non laker fans and laker haters ) opinion and i can count them on one hand. first thing your going to scream is homer but so be it. what can you really prove, stats dont prove everything. You made the statement about him seperating himself, so please show me Oh I could care less about what the ESPN hacks say. But this debate has been very interesting. In time he may find the right balance since he is only about 28, but until then, people should just let him be Kobe and stop all senseless comparisons. Kobe on the other hand has played for 9 seasons and STILL struggles with this. He started to REALLY do that after his 6th season, won a title in his 7th and stopped. Teammates were involved as the triangle was run effortlessly or he would drop 50 and they would win. Lastly, the thing that separates MJ from a lot of players is that he just knew what type of game needed to be played in a certain situation. Iverson averaged 33 with 7.4 assists, that's pretty close. Yes Kobe had a great year, but it wasn't that much better than Iverson's year, or LeBron's stat wise. Also, TMac and Yao haven't truly had a chance to play together yet as both have been injured on and off, never playing more than 75 games a year together. Then TMac was NOT supposed to be the man on Orlando and he was a surprise and carried them on his back the entire time he was there, again as the only All-Star on the team. There were no other All-Stars on the team or a player the caliber of a Lamar Odom. He actually led them BACK to the playoffs. Before Pippen and Grant became any good, MJ was playing with Dave Corzine, Quentin Daly, Ennis Whatley.you get the picture. Do tyou mean to say that TMac, Pierce, Vince, AI, or even the Washington MJ couldn't have won with Shaq in that era when he was the ONLY dominant center in the league?Ģ)People truly need to check the rosters of these teams that MJ and TMac played on that actually made the playoffs. Just a couple of things after reading this post:ġ) Kobe was Pippen to Shaq's Jordan, aka the second fiddle on the Lakers. Even if you're playing 4-on-5 and Jax keeps refusing to play Vujacic.-Bill Simmons Kobe, if you're going to steal MJ's fist clench/shake from Game 1 of the 1998 Finals without asking, you need to take this all the way. We all know that MJ would have dropped 55 on Bell, shut down Nash on the other end and disemboweled D'Antoni for good measure. Which reminds me, if Kobe doesn't completely eviscerate Bell in Game 7, everyone on the planet is banned from making any more Kobe-MJ comparisons. Why get suspended for Game 6 during the tail end of a Game 5 blowout? And why get Mamba riled up with a variety of potshots when you might be facing him in a possible Game 7? What's the logic with that one? He's like Bruce Bowen after about four drinks. That said, that game didn't go under the radar Kobe got adequately criticized for it and there's no need to rehash it now.Raja Bell. He wouldn't have a case if he said "you guys complain when I don't shoot threes, and then complain when I do shoot threes. It's like if Ben Simmons one day decided to shoot 8 threes in a big playoff game, made none, and was a big reason why Philly lost. The criticism for that particular game was warranted, as was the general criticism for shooting too much and not finding open teammates at times during his career. He definitely either quit in that game or tried to make some kind of statement with his passiveness. One would think he took their moms home or something. Every other player only gets hate because its trendy, with Kobe haters, its personal for some odd reason. Kobe is, was and will forever be the only player criticized for taking shots and not taking shots.
